Focal Points in the Training Activities of the Political Education Academy
In 1993, the Academy organized initial training seminars in aimags (provinces) on topics: "Project management training" with the Export Academy of Baden-Wuerttemberg (Germany), seminar on "Public administration" and "Journalism ". Totally, about 450 people participated in these activities.
In 1994, the initial, medium-and higher-level trainings on the topics of public administration, social policy, management, journalism were organized in Ulaanbaatar. In addition, the Academy organized international conference "The Electoral System and the Implementation of Electoral law in Mongolia" under auspices of the President of Mongolia, the national workshop "The Differentiation of Social structure and its political consequences", "Economy after Change" and the national seminar "Freedom of the Press" with the assistance of Asia Foundation of USA. Totally, 709 people attended at these activities.
In 1995, the Political Education Academy organized trainings on problems of politics, society, economy and justice, seminars for leaders of Mongolian National Democratic Party and the Mongolian Social Democratic Party, the conference "Inflation, its Consequence, Measuring and Information", in cooperation with the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government of Germany the seminar "The Role of the Media in Democracy", trainings on the topics "Economical issues of the Press and Mass media" for journalists, politicians and researchers, involving 1435 people.
In 1996, the Academy implemented "School of Democracy" project with participation of Asia Foundation and provided seminars at the request of MNDP and NGOs, for wide groups of population training them on policy, justice, economy in different regions. Totally, 3521 people attended.
In 1997, the center of PEA provided 84 seminars for 2238 people, member of the Meeting of citizen's representatives, officers of Administration Department of the Governor's Office of some aimaks and soums, members of political parties and NGOs consisting 2238 people in all aimag centers and some soums. The branches organized 71 trainings for 1713 people, total number of participants: 3951.
In 1998, the head office of PEA implemented totally 54 trainings programmes in the framework of "School of Democracy" project and seminars on the topics "Human Rights-Social Value", "Knowledge on society" and "Local Governance" involving 1807 people. Local branches organized 189 trainings for 4963 participants. Total number of attendants: 6770.
In 1999, 84 trainings in the framework of "Civic Education" project and seminars on topics "Human Rights", "Knowledge on society", "Local Governance" were provided for 2117 people. Local branches organized 300 trainings for 8402 participants. Total participants: 10519.
In 2000,
Seminars and workshops were organized on 8 main issues:
1. School of Democracy
2. New knowledge on society
3. "Democracy and Development" radio and TV serial lessons
4. The Concept and Development of the Constitution
5. Freedom of the Press and Democracy
6. Business management
7. Seminars for the students, who studying social sciences
8. Management of the political parties
Totally, about 6962 people participated in 278 training workshops
and seminars.
In 2001, one more new topics "Civil Society, Rule of law" was added to above 8 issues. Totally 470 seminars and workshops were organized involving 11634 people.
In 2002 the Academy will manage training activities
in the following 11 issues:

3. New Knowledge on Society
4. Citizen's Political and Economical Information
5. The Values of Democracy
6. The Principles of Human Rights
7. The Concept and Development of the Constitution

10. Dialogue among Political Parties

It is planned to organize 752 seminars and workshops for 15645 people
in 2002.
