POLITICAL EDUCATION ACADEMY


The primary objective of the Political Education Academy is to support and strengthen a social order based on Solidarity, Rule of Law and a democratic state which respects individual human rights and liberties.

The Goals of the Academy:

· to spread the ideas of human rights and liberties
· to create an open society based on pluralism
· to implement a democratic society and rule of law
· to encourage parliamentarism and a multi-party system
· to support the governance and decentralization of power

To achieve its goals the Academy is implementing the following:

* providing training and seminars
* carrying out fundamental and applied research in the social sciences
* publishing periodicals, brochures and textbooks.

The Political Education Academy is registered by the Ministry of Justice and Interiors of Mongolia as a non-profit, non-governmental organization.

The decision-making authority of the Academy is the Meeting of Members of the Academy. The Meeting of Members of the Academy elects the Board consisting from 5 Members for two years. The Board head is Davaadorjin Ganbold, former Member of Mongolian Parliament.

In carrying out its activities the Academy is cooperating with any domestic or foreign organizations and individuals. Since 1993 the Academy is closely cooperating with Konrad Adenauer Foundation of Germany.
The head office of the Academy situated in Ulaanbaatar. Since July 1997 the Academy has 6 branches in Darkhan-Uul, Dornod, Dundgobi, Uvurkhangai, Khuvsgul and Khovd aimags.
