2000 National Productivity Award
 
Productivity movement among Schoolchildren
  NPDC, Mongolia took the initiaive of setting up the National Productivity Award (NPA) last year to support country-wide productivity
movement through strengthening cooperation between private sector and government and to support willingness to proud of Mongolian national values. The President of Mongolia conferred the first NPA to the 6 best companies such as "Gobi" cashmere and wool production, "Ulaanbaatar carpet " "Juulchin" tourism, "Autobus-1" public transportation, "Ulaanbaatar hotel " and "Lotsinvest " trading company, on 6 April 2000 in Government House.
The purpose of NPA is to increase competitiveness of the Mongolian companies in the world market by the way of good relations with their employees and customers and continious improvement of products and services.
NPA is open to all enterprises, both private and public, operating in Mongolia. There are 3 catergories in the award, namely Manufacturing sector, Serrvice sector, and Small Business sector. Each year, only a maximum of six enterprises are selected for the award, two in each category. The candidates are assessed on seven criteria which are further divided into 28 items.
NPA will be granted in of 2001 for the second time to the companies who showed the best performance in productivity and quality. Nominating companies for NPA are Hun-Od , Eermel, Monsam, APU company, GanKhiits Corp., and Seruuleg Institute.
 
National Productivity and Development Center initiated a programm "Productivity movement among Schoolchildren" with the purpose to introduce elementary knowledge
on productivity and quality concept and improve morals, discipline, consciousness of the kids and therefore live and study in clean environment. It is planned 11 high schools of Chingeltei district of Ulaanbaatar to participate and high schools ¹5 and 50 have already started the programme.
