(July 23-August 3, 2001)
Come and share the adventure of your life with young people from all over the world! In the summer of 2001 an International Youth Summer Camp will be held in Mongolia, known as ‘the land of eternal blue skies’. Come and experience the Mongolian nomadic way of life, trekking in the land of no fences, where herds of horses and camels roam the exquisite countryside, tended by nomadic herders, whose traditional hospitality always provides a welcome for the traveler.

Nestling between Russia and China, Mongolia is a country with wide-open steppe, rugged snow-capped mountains, and crystal-clear, unspoiled lakes. It has a long and ancient history, and a living culture which is unique – the music and dance will take your breath away. Colorful Buddhist temples, beautiful white gers (the traditional round felt and wooden tents which are home to half the people of Mongolia), and the herders and their flocks, combine to offer a profound travel experience in the heart of Central Asia. In the bustling boomtown capital of Ulaan Baatar, ancient temples lie next to restaurants offering cuisine from all over the world. This is the center of what was once the world’s greatest empire, created by the formidable Chingis Khan.
Young people aged 14 to 25 years old are eligible to attend as individuals or in groups of any size. The total number of participants at the camp will be around 200, including Mongolian youth.
You’ll spend the first ten days at ‘Nairamdal’ participating in the daily activities of the summer camp, getting acquainted with each other, and taking day trips to nearby areas of interest.
During this time you will be assigned a host who will guide you around the city. Rather than taking you on a typical tourist route, they will tailor your visit to the interests of a young person.
