1. Which election system do you think is the most
advantageous for increasing women's political participation? In
addition, what steps can the President take in order to achieve
this version? |
- Participating women in politics will become state order. Thus,
I think that by supporting women for special purposes and nominating
them to the positions will give opportunities to skillful women
at the decision-making level.
- If I were President, I would appoint a woman consultant for
social issues
|
| 2. Violence against women and the issue
of discriminating against them has been occurring more and more
in social, political, and economic life as well as in family and
public life. So, what specific steps can the President take to eliminate
violence against women, based on International Convention and Declaration
of Women and Human rights? |
|
| 3. What amendment can the President make
to Mongolian laws, which violate women's rights, and at the same
time decrease the trend of the inferiority of women in society?
What can the President do in order to create gender equality in
society and promote the co-operation between men and women in political
and social life? |
- Mongolian society is equal by sex, but women are a more active
part of the population. Women's participation in social life
is as natural as men's. Therefore, we should not discriminate
against them (women). Moreover, it is necessary to change the
stereotype that has undervalued them and tradition that scorns
women when they show their ability and work together.

To help and support activity that provides gender equality, |
1. Have you been introduced to the Concluding comments
of 24th CEDAW Committee's session to the Mongolian Government? What
measures will you take to implement the requirements that were pointed
out in the concluding comments? |
|
| 2. If you are elected as President, what measures
will you take to eliminate traditions and laws that discriminate
and violate against women by age and sex? |
|
| 3. What election system does think is
needed for equal representatives of women in decision-making? |
- I do not think that we can regulate increasing women's percent
in decision-making by law. In previous society (in "socialism"),
women were elected through nomination. Therefore, unless we
step backwards, it is impossible to regulate to increase the
number of women in decision-making.
