The Mongolian Women Lawyer's Association (MWLA) was established in 1992 by women lawyers, as a non-government, non profit organization with the aim to protect the women's rights and provide them with legal assistance. During the past 7 years the Association established 36 branches across the provinces and districts in Ulaanbaatar city. The MWLA has nearly 700 members, including 300 judges, 180 Advocates, 80 Prosecutors, as well as Academics and court staff. The activities of the Association are directed by an elected Board of Directors and the association has 7 full time staff, including an Executive Director, 2 Lawyers, an International Relations Officer and an Administrator and a Program assistant.

Our vision is to support a self-determining Mongolian society that is humane, just and democratic, protect and promotes women's human rights, enables individuals to achieve full human development, respects the people's cultural heritage, and relates with other societies based on mutual respect, equality and cooperation.

Our mission is to provide legal services to women and engage in policy and other forms of advocacy with other women's groups, as part of efforts to protect and promote women's rights and dignity, advance women's leadership, and increase their participation in social development, as well as to contribute to the establishment of a legal system that is responsive to the needs and protective of the rights of people, particularly women.
