      1. Przewalskii horse-Takhi reintroduction project

      In the 29th of September 1990, MACNE has signed international contract on "Reintroduction of Ancient horse of Mongolian domestic horse- Takhi (Przewalskii horse- Equus Przewalski). In the 10th of October of this year the "Takhi reintroduction center" was built.
 
      2. Snow leopard-Irbis project
      Irbis means snow leopard in Mongolian Irbis Enterprises is a pioneering project that links income generation, in nomadic communities in the mountains of Mongolia, with the conservation of snow leopards.
      For thousands of generations nomadic herders have shared the mountains with snow leopards and their natural prey: ibex and argali sheep.
      The recent introduction of the market economy and the privatization of livestock has put this delicate ecosystem under increasing pressure. Irbis Enterprises offers herders an opportunity to increase their income.
      They use wool from their livestock: camels, sheep and cashmere goats to make beautiful products by hand. These are then marketed in Mongolia and internationally. In return for this opportunity to increase their income herders agree to undertake certain activities that benefit wildlife. They also sign a contract committing to the conservation of snow leopards and their prey.
