the frame of the Open Web Center project, implemented by the Internet
and Information Center and funded by the Mongolian
Foundation for Open Society (Soros Foundation), a series of
online chats entitled ICT as a Tool for Development has
been organized. The goal is to aid in the development a civil
and democratic society, and to increase the participation of Mongolians
in enhancing information exchange, by using ICT to facilitate
discussion of serious social issues amongst citizens across the
country. |

Director of the Soros Foundation, George Soros, participated in
the first discussion, entitled The Internet in Our Lives.
The ICT as a Tool for Development series is conducted
on democratic principles, and understanding that through the use
of the Internet, organizations and individuals can freely discuss
and exchange their opinions. |
