Mongol Studies supported by UNESCO and Governments

UNESCO has committed itself "to support the establishment of the International Institute for Studies of Nomadic Civilizations in Mongolia, and to provide appropriate assistance for its functioning. The first General Assembly of which shall be organized under the UNESCO sponsorship. Mongolia and UNESCO shall continue international cooperation in the area of Mongol Studies" /From Aide Memoire between Mongolia and UNESCO of 18 April 1996/.
"UNESCO regards each culture and civilization as an integral part of the treasury of humanity as a whole and that is why our organization considers that its principle mission is to give the fullest expression on cultural identities and all countries and peoples and thereby create a climate of mutual understanding and respect and a constructive dialogue between the different cultures and civilizations of the world. The International Association for Mongol Studies is clearly pursuing similar goals in terms of our mutually enriching cooperation". /From the Message of Federico Mayor, the Director General of UNESCO, to the participants of the Sixth International Congress of Mongolists' (1992)/

The Government pays attention to the knowledge of the country through the way of first-hand acquaintance of the foreging countries with Mongolian art and culture and to that end supports studies of Mongolian culture in foreign countries and International Mongol studies..." (From the Action Programme of the Government of Mongolia approved by the State Great Hural on 1 November 1996. /"Ardyn Erh" 22 November 1996/).
"The Government of Mongolia and the United Kingdom will seek to promote a better knowledge and understanding of each others's cultural, artistic and historical heritage. In particular, the participants wish to seek the development of Mongolian language teaching and Mongolian studies in the United Kingdom and of English language teaching and British studies in Mongolia".
