Current context of education

  The formal education system has been established in Mongolia. Adult literacy rate is 95%. Eight years of general  education is compulsory. 17-19 percent of State Budget is allocated to educational sector. The non- formal educational system has not established yet. "The Education Law of Mongolia" adopted in 1995 emphasized on development of non-formal education system encouraging community participation in education.

Aim and status of Foundation

    Education for Development Foundation is a non-governmental, community, non-profit organization aimed at utilizing social resources to develop education based on different forms of properties, providing opportunities to meet educational needs of community. Founded in 1995 the Foundation is to function beyond any pressure from political parties, unions and movement serving to various strata of society. The principles concerned in legal acts and legislations of Mongolia and international agreement on legal relation are leading basis in our activities.
