The ANIMA Club was founded on December 12, 1997 by students who
are majoring psychology and other fields, so that they can make
a contribution to the development of psychology.
ANIMA - is an ancient Greek word meaning consciousness and ghost.
The role of psychology in the society is growing in its significance
as seen in many developed countries.
The club acts as a non Governmental organization to promote the
science of psychology, to put its theoretical provisions into practice
and to offer psychological consultation services to the population.
The basic directions of its activity are:
- Propaganda of achievements of science of psychology
- Training and research programs
- Assisting those in need of psychological advice and consultations
- Establishing working contacts and developing cooperations with
foreign organizations, pursuing similar aims and purposes
- To carry out joint programs and projects with other non-governmental
organizations
- To promote standards of civilized habits and health education
among young people
- To assist young people in developing their talents and abilities,
to spend their free time in the most appropriate way
- To assist the Club members to study foreign languages and obtain
computer training.
Currently the Club has a membership of over 380 participants, including
teachers and professors, graduates and students from state and private
universities as well as senior high-school pupils.
It has obtained a collection of over 200 books and text books on
psychology and related subjects.
The ANIMA Club, jointly with MSU, SPU, "Orgil" Psychological Institute,
Research-21 Institute, Educational College, Pedagogical College,
holds the Best Report Presentation competition and student science
conferences.
Also during the summer months it organizes together with youth
and student organizations Student Leaders seminars. The Club also
publishing and distributed 200 Year Entry Information covering of
student tourism organizations and foreign language teaching centers.
Together with Wave-107.5 radio station it organizes radio show "Let's
open our secrets" on Saturdays, once a week.
